2.a ORGANIZATION CHART AND DATA ON SIST'S ORGANIZATION
Brief description of SIST's work area:
The Slovenian Institute for Standardization (SIST) is the Slovenian national standards body responsible for setting up, managing and maintaining the national standardization system in the areas of electrical technology, IT, telecommunications and standardization in general, and representing the national interests in the international (ISO, IEC) and European (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI) organizations for standardization. The work of SIST is directed by the Assembly, consisting of the SIST members and five representatives of the Founder. The President represents SIST, convenes and chairs the Assembly and Council meetings. The Council makes decisions regarding SIST business operations. The Technical Councils direct the work in the area of standardization performed by the SIST technical working bodies. SIST was established by the Decision of the Republic of Slovenia on the Establishment (RS Official Gazette Nos. 70/2000 and 91/2002), with the permanent assignment to perform the activities of the Slovenian national standardization in the public interest, and its own activities in the customers' interests.. The SIST Secretariat, which is managed by the Director, is a technical/administrative service which provides professional /technical support to the SIST bodies and technical working bodies, and carries out the marketing of products and services.
